Poor buildingSMART implementations
Good article on the confusion between the various standard specifications from buildingSMART and the implementations of it. Somebody seems to think that e.g IFC is not rich enough to carry data between applications. That is not true.

At the steering group meeting for the buildingSMART Norway Project, at SKANSKA’s headquarter in Stockholm, Ilkka Romo showed an impressive range of prosseses where SKANSKA is utilizing the advatages of BIM. It ranged from compressed scheduling of production, better cost control, better visual marketing and element libraries. The hope is that this will only increase the use of open international standards, like the buildingSMART standards, not closed proprietary solutions, as this will benefit SKANSKA the most in the long term.
